The Graphic Design Process In 6 Steps
Developing a design process is essential for all graphic designers, whether you're creating a brand, logo or a website. Using a design process allows you to maintain creativity and boost your efficiency with time and budget.
The Design Process
Step 1 -Briefing the Project - This is where your client inform you - about their products, their services, and what makes them tick as a company. Gather as much information as you can about the project goals.
Step 2 - Research and Discovery. Research and Discovery based on information provided by the client. Research will make you a better designer, saving you a lot of thinking time.
Step 3 - Brainstorm and Sketch Concepts - A design concept is the idea behind a design. It's how you plan on solving the design problem in front of you. Brainstorming in a logical or sensible way for how you'll design logo or website. At this phase you can start drawing rough sketches of your ideas. Your concept will lead to your choices in layout, color and type.
Step 4 - Build The Design - Project Design Sketch Concepts and components are looked at to the smallest detail.
Step 5 - Evolve Your Concept - Your clients will always have feedback and change requests. In other words, you’ll need to start refining your designs. But before presenting the designs to your client again, you can ask your team for instant feedback.
Step 6 - Completion - Create alternate formats and sizes of all your graphic design elements once the final design is approved by your client.
